Poem: Lovesick
January 20, 2008
Oh how I long to hear that voice
For it is the sound of sweetness which has no flaws
For me to see her is like looking at beauty itself
I feel as if I’m breaking the law
I would like to follow her where ever she goes
But I can’t for, my feet will not move
My stomach’s churning, my heart is racing
But all I wonder is “how will I prove
My love for her”, Then I breathe
Then I sigh for she is gone
The pain subsides, but my confusion lingers
As I ponder “What went wrong?”
Months pass and I see her still
But to no avail
I try to get her to notice me
But I always fail
I know that old saying
True love is rare
But it’s as if I’m invisible
It’s as if I’m not even there
However I will never give in
Until I win her heart
Be it with strength
Courage or even with smarts
Even if it’s my own undoing
No one’s to blame
For she is the spark
That set my heart aflame
